This story has the twists and turns that are typical of Ethel Dell's romances. Although this title does not particularly use religious moralizing the characters have a keen sense of right and wrong and in the end confess the faults of their premarital lives. I also love the way the author uses the familiar Charles Rex character in this novel to build a love triangle as she has done in other titles. A very enjoyable read. If you like romances of this type i recommend Florence Barclay's "Mistress of Shenstone"Product details

The obstacle race Ethel M Dell 9781117660127 Books Reviews
According to family legend Ethel M. Dell was my grandmother's favourite author and she was born in the 1880's. So this is just what i expected, a slightly racy romance set in the early 1900's.
This story is about finding oneself and the cost that others may have to pay for another's deceit. The characters are well defined in their masks but the reader is given clues enough to forgive them and wish them happiness.
This is another wonderful Christian love story by Ethel M. Dell. It takes place mainly in a little fishing village in England. It is a very sweet love story, full of surprises and poignant moments. As usual it was hard to put this novel down until it was finished. This author has the ability to hold your attention until the end. I haighly recommend this novel.
